Just saw Jeff Martin 777

Went to the Jeff Martin 777 concert on the weekend. They ROCKED THE HOUSE!! Insane awesomeness! They played some songs from their new album like The Ground Cries Out and Riverland Ramber, plus some of my favorite Tea Party and solo album songs like Shadows On The Mountainside and Black Snake Blues. I met Jeff Martin as he snuck outside for a smoke before they went on, and then I got to meet the band and chat for a bit after the concert. I'm still on cloud 9. Got some pictures...

Omg, calm down self........ I just bought tickets for JEFF MARTIN this Saturday!!!!!!!!! 
Ahhhhh!!! Jeff Martin is the lead singer of The Tea Party only my favorite band EVER!!!! I have been waiting YEARS to see them/ him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously...... This is like one of my life dreams!!!! 

Day 13

BK: strawberries, blueberries and blackberries with fresh coconut water (smoothie)
Snack: almonds
L: large salad
D: one: spelt/ freshly ground flax/fresh grated coconut pancake

Geez, today was really hectic at work and I was sooo tempted to have a caffeine drink, but I didn't! I made it through just fine as I knew I would.

Yes, today I had a pancake, not raw. I only had one though, and it still fell under 20% of my total food intake for the day. It was sooo good though! It's my own recipe, if anyone would like the recipe just ask. I just used my basic pancake recipe and added the flax and coconut. Yum!
I am 2/3 the way through The Lost Hero by R. Riordan (author of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. It's SO good!!!! It's a spin off of the Percy series and now I'm thinking I will read that series too.

Day 6

BK: berries and a mini orange
S: raisins, rest of berries
L: veggie wrap (greens, alfalfa spouts THAT I SPROUTED!!, cucumber, orange peppers, flax seeds, cherry tomatoes, hummus)
S: raisins
D: homemade organic spelt noodles (made with organic spelt flour, hemp oil, water and himalayan salt), tossed in sunflower oil, chopped basil and garlic and tomatoes
S: small salad and sprouts

Day two

BK: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, orange
Snack: raisins (soaked)
Lunch: flax wrap with avocado, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, pea sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, hemp oil & garlic spread
Dinner: "chili" (soaked sun-dried tomatoes, tomatoes, avocado, leeks, red pepper, carrot, celery, spices, soaked pecans and seeds)

Bev: Brew Ginger ale, herbal teas

Day one

Today is day one of my eating experiment. Ideally this will be a 90 day experiment. I may need to alter the plan as I go depending on how I feel. The guidelines are as follows:
Allowed: vegetables, nuts, seeds, cold pressed oils, sprouts (including millet, buckwheat and quinoa), sea vegetables, herbs and spices, herbal teas, lemon juice, lime juice, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, oranges, apples (occasionally), coconut. All of the above are raw or dehydrated. One cooked meal from above list.

Once weekly: special fruits.
Once every few weeks: restaurant food (vegan).

Not allowed: anything not listed above.

Today I began with a breakfast of:

Mixed spring greens, 1/2 avocado, 6 cherry tomatoes, pea sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, hemp oil, lemon juice and herbs. Chamomile, fennel & peppermint tea with greens. Numerous herbal teas.

Snack: strawberries

Dinner:

Well, that's about 1/2 the amount I started with 

Snack: orange
Snack: almonds

Oh ya, and the sprouts I started yesterday are doing really well!! Here they are today...

Starting new diet regiment tomorrow

So we are on our way home from the city right now. I just ate a ton of pasta and salad and feel like I may explode 
Went to the natural food market and picked up a sprouter, a bunch of seaweeds, seeds, raw grains, sprouts, hemp oil, etc. I begin tomorrow morning. My diet will consist of 99% alkaline foods, at least 80% of that being raw. I'd like to eat this way for about 3 months and then see how I would like to proceed from there. Tis quite a bit of learning involved. I've never sprouted foods before, so this will be a new experience.
I'd like to think my lifetime diet would look something like 90% alkaline foods of which 75% is raw. That should average somewhere around the 80-20 balance when u take into account having some cooked foods. Well, I will still have hot tea anyways. Of course, I will update frequently and perhaps even blog in vegan foodblog. Well, almost home.

I also got ani's raw food recipe book, but it's not at all good. It has really bad food combinations!! Fruit with nuts and veggies!!

Writer's Block: How do you get better?

What do you do when you're sick other than rest or medication?

Drink tons of water mixed with lemon juice and cayenne pepper. Also take a few drops of oregano oil 3-4 times a day. I make asparagus soup and eat lots of alkaline vegetables, especially celery which helps clear congestion.
